Oprah blazes another trail

Even Oprah Winfrey's money is breaking records.

The media mogul cracked the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the 500 richest people in the world, which was released Monday. Her fortune hit $4 billion, making her the first black woman on the list.

The icon built her legacy -- and her wealth -- on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and her cable network, OWN. Her latest bump comes from her shares in Weight Watchers, which has pushed her up an extra $427 million this year alone, according to Bloomberg.

She also just signed a multiyear deal with Apple, which plans to spend $1 billion on original content in an arms race with Netflix, Amazon and Hulu.

Winfrey, 64, currently holds the No. 494 spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires list.
