STATE REPRESENTATIVE TO RESIGN IN AUGUST

State Rep. Eli Evankovich, R-Murrysville, announced Monday that he intends to resign in August.

The representative, who has been in the state House since 2011, said he will take a job at a manufacturing company based in Western Pennsylvania, although he did not name the company.

He had already announced that he did not plan to seek another term.

"As I stated in December 2016, when I made my decision not to seek a fifth term, running for office was always about making a positive difference rather than a career path - I believe I delivered on that to the people of my district," Mr. Evankovich said in a statement.

Mr. Evankovich represents the 54th District in the state Legislature, which covers parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, including Murrysville and Export. …
