PLANS have been submitted for an 'aparthotel' on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street in Manchester city centre.

The company behind the 160-unit 'Whitworth Locke' development has already overseen similar projects in Edinburgh and east London.

Bosses have now submitted an application to the council for an apart-hotel with restaurant and bar units at ground and basement floor.

Serviced accommodation provider Saco is hoping the development will be up and running by October, when it will offer a co-working space, a gym and a cocktail bar as well as studios and onebedroom suites.

The site is on a former cotton mill and the company said the development will 'celebrate the glorious past of industrial Manchester while embracing its dynamic and vibrant future. …
