ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man cut off another car on a city street this month, followed the car and then shot a man in the face in retaliation for being honked and yelled at in traffic, charges say.

Deshon K. Cole, 29, of the 3900 block of Humphrey Street, was charged Wednesday with four counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of marijuana possession.

Police and charging documents say Cole swerved his sedan toward another vehicle in the 3100 block of Gravois Avenue about 10:40 p.m. June 4.

Cole's maneuver prompted the driver to honk his horn and a passenger of his to yell something out the window, charges say. It is unclear what was said, but Cole followed the car, pulled up and opened fire, hitting the 22-year-old male passenger who had yelled in the face. …
