The Ford era is set to begin at Queen's Park today.

Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford will be sworn in, alongside his cabinet, during a ceremony at the provincial legislature.

He'll then hold a second, public ceremony outside the building, where he's expected to reaffirm his oath of office and give a speech.

Ford led the Tories to victory in this month's provincial election on a largely populist platform of lower taxes offset by finding billions in unspecified "efficiencies." (The Canadian Press)

(Niagara-Sex-Assault)

Niagara Region police have made a second arrest in an ongoing investigation of historical sexual assaults.

Officers say a 52-year-old man from Port Colborne was arrested on Thursday and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.

He's due to appear in court in St. Catharines for a bail hearing today.

Another suspect was arrested on Sunday and faces a total of 40 charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference and forcible confinement. (The Canadian Press)

(Toronto-Fatal-Shooting)

Police in Toronto have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old man.

Brent Young of Toronto was found in a residential building on the city's east side early Monday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they've charged a 26-year-old Toronto man with first-degree murder.

He's due in court this morning.

They're also looking for a second man in connection with the homicide, and they're appealing for anyone with information to contact them. (The Canadian Press)

Students from a Toronto school are calling for the resignation of a principal who compiled a list of black students to track their performance.
