New Principal Hired for Woodland Hills High

A new principal has been hired for Woodland Hills Junior/Senior High School.

Phillip K. Woods, who previously was principal of West Mifflin High School, was hired Monday by the Woodland Hills school board.

His salary will be $122,500.

Mr. Woods replaces Candee Nagy, an assistant principal who had been serving as acting principal at the school since Kevin Murray resigned as principal and head football coach in August.

Mr. Murray received a $32,000 settlement after his state certification lapsed last summer amid allegations that students were abused at the school.

Mr. Woods is taking over after a tumultuous year in the school district.The district is undergoing changes recommended by a panel that evaluated its culture and discipline practices after several altercations between students and staff at the school. …
