It's true that breweries are popping up all over Pittsburgh but not usually like this.

Lawrenceville's Roundabout Brewery is opening a pop-up beer garden in a rented outdoor space on the Ohio River on the North Side.

The address - 1836 Oxline St. - is back in the industrial area off Beaver Avenue, adjacent to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and the Ohio River. A neighbor? Peggy's Harbor marina.

Roundabout's Dyana Sloan teased and then announced the opening on social media this week, saying, "We are at the mercy of the weather as to whether we will open it up every Saturday or not. We do plan to open it to the public on Saturday, July 7th."

She explains that the quiet spot will be open only until about 8 p.m. or so, while there's still natural light, and people will sit at "slightly used" German tables and tents. …
