IT couldn't have been a better night's work for Belle Vue Aces after they beat reigning league champions Swindon Robins 55-35.

The win moves the Rentruck Aces up to third after victories for Somerset and Poole resulted in a major reshuffle of the top four.

A late change saw the Aces reduced to six men after it emerged Jason Garrity was still unfit to race after previous crash while riding for Scunthorpe, with R/R in effect at No.2. But it was not enough to scupper Belle Vue's plans, and thanks to some early inspiration from Damian Drózdz, the Aces surged ahead.

Max Fricke again dominated with 13+1, while Dan Bewley contributed 10, and both Drózdz and Rohan Tungate added 9+2 each.
