The Allegheny County Health Department posted consumer alerts at two local restaurants and a bakery because of serious health code violations.

Walnut Grill on Washington Pike in Bridgeville was cited for repeatedly holding foods at unsafe temperatures, bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat foods and cross-contamination problems.

A woman answering the phone Wednesday morning said no one was available for comment.

At Mount Everest Sushi on Oakland Avenue in Oakland, the facility was cited for holding food at unsafe temperatures and for not having any working commercial refrigeration. Other problems included having no soap at the hand-washing sink, lack of a certified food safety manager, soiled food contact surfaces and food in unsound condition.

"Facility requires a thorough cleaning on every and all surfaces of kitchen," according to an inspection report. …
