RIYAD Mahrez is confident of breaking into City's team, despite their record-breaking season.

The Blues' latest acquisition has set a couple of records himself - as the most expensive player in the club's history and the highestpriced Arab footballer. But he says the record price tag hanging around his neck does not weigh too heavily on him - and that he is backing himself to make an impact.

"What City did, it was amazing," he said. "They broke all the records, unbelievable, but I never thought about that.

"I'm very confident about myself and I hope to help this team to improve."

His move, which was completed on Tuesday, brought to an end a saga which stretches back to January, when City were priced out of their initial move. Mahrez was unhappy that deal broke down, but says maybe he left it too long to leave Leicester after winning the Premier League in 2016, when he was also named Player of the Year. …
