U-S President Donald Trump is continuing to court controversy during his trip to Europe.

Trump was to view a military demonstration before meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May today at her country house, Chequers.

The meetings could be tense after Trump trashed May's Brexit plans in a diplomacy-wrecking interview with The Sun newspaper that was published late last night.

Trump will also visit Windsor Castle where he and first lady Melania Trump will have tea with Queen Elizabeth.

Large anti-Trump protests are planned across the U-K -- with the biggest expected in London where a giant, angry "Trump Baby" balloon is flying outside Parliament. (3)



France's top diplomat says Europe will stand up to U-S President Donald Trump's efforts to "destabilize" the E-U and derail international co-operation.

Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said today Trump "can't tolerate that there is an ensemble called the European Union," but he added "Europe will not let itself be destabilized.''

Le Drian says Trump only believes in conflictual relationships, and accused him of trying to destroy multilateral efforts to encourage trade, fight climate change and Iran's nuclear activities. (3)



Manitoba wants four other affected provinces to get behind its push for Greyhound Canada to provide two more months of Prairie bus service.

Premier Brian Pallister says the company's announcement that it will end its routes in northern Ontario and Western Canada on Halloween, save for the Vancouver-to-Seattle route, came as a complete surprise.

He says an extra two months of service would give private-sector companies a chance to evaluate routes and develop a business plan.

Manitoba has asked B-C, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario to write a joint letter to Ottawa asking the feds to get involved. …
