JOSE Mourinho has confirmed he will be without 12 of his first team squad for the opening Premier League game of the season against Leicester.

United kick-start the new campaign at Old Trafford on Friday, August 10 and the United boss has already confirmed none of the players who have taken part in the World Cup will be available for the game.

Mourinho hit out at the decision to start the season so soon after the World Cup finished and revealed the impact it will have on his team selection.

"We cannot start the Premier League with our players that were in the World Cup, which is a shame for the most important club competition in Europe," Mourinho said.
