Bunn Delighted as Oldham Beat Rebels

OLDHAM Athletic manager Frankie Bunn was impressed with the intensity of his side following their 2-0 victory over FC United last night.

Goals from trialist Chris O'Grady and Johan Branger-Engone earned Latics the win over their opponents at Broadhurst Park.

It was Oldham's third pre-season win following on from their victories over Ashton United and Curzon Ashton, and Bunn is pleased with the progress being made.

"It's another step to another stage. We are trying to pick the intensity up and the minutes of the players, and we carried it on until around 70 minutes," he said.

"The way we hunted the ball and tried to get on the front foot was good. We said to the players they're doing well as they're taking things on board, which is a credit to them."

Along with O'Grady, Latics fielded two other trialists in the match, with Jonathan Benteke and Andrew Taylor both starting, following on from earlier pre-season games in which they had also featured. …
