Former Commercial Development Employee Wins Lawsuit against Des Peres Firm

A federal jury in Baltimore has sided with a former employee of Des Peres-based Commercial Development Company Inc. who accused the company of not paying him commission on a real estate deal.

Commercial Development Company buys, sells and redevelops brownfield sites and associated environmental liabilities around the country. In addition to Commercial Development, company principal Michael Roberts and the entity used for the real estate deal, Sparrows Point LLC, are also named in the 2015 lawsuit filed by John H. Macsherry, Jr.

Macsherry alleged he was hired by the St. Louis-area company as the point person in Baltimore to work on what became a $110 million sale of a large piece of Baltimore County commercial property.

Known as Sparrows Point, a former steel mill and associated heavy industry had operated on the site until 2012. …
