New Faces as Ammies Get Ready for National League Bow

SALFORD CITY have their first-ever game in the National League today when they take on Leyton Orient at the Peninsula Stadium.

The Ammies have made plenty of signings in the summer, with the most recent being James Hooper, who joined the club earlier this week.

They also appointed Graham Alexander as manager in the summer after Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley left the club.

In the National League North, STOCKPORT COUNTY will attempt to mount another promotion challenge beginning with today's game against local rivals FC UNITED.

The Hatters finished in fifth place last season, and manager Jim Gannon hopes that the side will be able to improve during this campaign.

"We've set ourselves several targets, and one of them is to maintain what we did last year in terms of our discipline, fitness levels and our home form," he said. …
