Events Set for Safe Disposal of Tvs, Paints, Other Hazardous Waste

The Pennsylvania Resources Council will hold five collection events for hard-to-recycle items and household chemicals this month and into October.

These events, all from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., give people the opportunity to safety dispose of materials that cannot be recycled at curbside.

The cost for household chemicals is $3 per gallon, cash only. Smoke detectors will also be accepted for $3 each. There will be a fee for televisions and computer monitors, alkaline batteries, fluorescent tubes, printers, small freon appliances and tires.
