Four dead, no survivors in pickup truck crash

LODGE BAY, N.L. - Four people are dead after a two-vehicle crash in southern Labrador early Thursday that left no survivors.

Road conditions were foggy when two pickup trucks collided head-on at around 7 a.m. on Route 510 between Lodge Bay and Red Bay, police said.

"It's a pretty intense scene, I'm sure, in Labrador right now, and our members who responded are still on scene," Glenda Power of RCMP communications said Thursday afternoon.

Both pickups were carrying two people, three men and one woman, and no one survived the crash.

Municipal staff in Red Bay and Lodge Bay said they weren't sure whether the victims were locals or tourists.

The trucks crashed about seven kilometres from Red Bay, along a non-residential strip of highway connecting municipalities in southern Labrador. …
