Drugs Worth £1M Found after Swoop at Airport

A DRUG dealer's arrest at Manchester Airport led police to a huge haul of narcotics worth more than £1m stashed at his home.

National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators swooped to detain Edward Donaldson, 29, as he tried to collect a consignment Border Force officers had already intercepted. Police teams immediately searched his flat and found 25,595 ecstasy tablets - worth up to £256,000 - as well as crystal MDMA, cocaine and a quantity of a psychoactive drug called mexedrone worth £30,000.

The NCA said together the seizure had a street value in excess of £1m.

Donaldson, who is now starting an eight-year jail term, told investigators he was storing the drugs for someone else, but refused to say who.

The NCA said the psychoactive substance mexedrone has been linked to emergency hospital admissions and deaths. …
