Exone Shares Fall after Losses Widen for North Huntingdon Printing Company

Shares of ExOne tumbled 16 percent Friday after the North Huntingdon 3D printing company once again posted disappointing quarterly results.

ExOne shares closed at $6.72, off $1.29. They are down 20 percent this year.

The company reported a second quarter loss of $8 million, or 50 cents per share, after the market closed Thursday compared to a loss of $6.4 million, or 40 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter. Revenue rose less than 1 percent to $10.9 million.

Analysts had forecast a loss of 33 cents per share on revenue of $15 million.

The company blamed the disappointing results on delays in installing new printers for customers.

On a conference call Friday morning for investors and analysts, senior vice president Brian Smith said 18 printers are either on their way to customers, being installed or awaiting customer approval of the installation. …
