Wes Backing United's New-Look Centre-Back Pairing

ERIC Bailly and Victor Lindelof could prove to be United's perfect centreback partnership, according to Wes Brown.

The pair started together for the first time in a competitive fixture in the opening game of the season against Leicester and both put in a solid performance.

With Jose Mourinho failing to land the centre-back he was after in the summer transfer window, the United boss must now find the best partnership with the players in his current squad.

And former United defender Brown believes Bailly and Lindelof could be the answer.

"Hopefully they can be United's first-choice centre-back pairing," Brown told M.E.N. Sport.

"I'm guessing that's why the manager bought them both. I like Bailly and Lindelof had a really good World Cup, so we have got off to a good start on Friday and Mourinho might keep that pairing at the back for a while. …
