ST. LOUIS> Boy who nearly drowned is expected to survive - A 9-year-old boy who nearly drowned at a Lumière Place hotel Sunday night is expected to survive without any long-term effects, according to St. Louis Fire Department officials.

Firefighters and police were called to the HoteLumière at the Arch about 7:20 p.m. They found hotel staff members performing CPR on the boy, which likely saved his life and prevented any long-term damage, said Fire Capt. Leon Whitener. However, doctors are keeping the child sedated, Whitener said.

St. Louis Child Abuse detectives are investigating.
