UNITED'S share prices have rocketed to a record high of £18.50 per share.

While there has been plenty of negative off the field reports following a disappointing result against Brighton, it's clearly not affecting the Reds' price on the stock market.

United's financial worth has reached a record high and the club is now valued at £3.1bn. The news will no doubt be welcomed by executive vice chairman Ed Woodward and club owners the Glazers; the latest figures released show that, since the end of July, shares have gone up nearly 14 per cent to $24 (£18.50).

All the while, Woodward has come under scrutiny from former players and pundits for not backing Jose Mourinho in the transfer window by bringing in the signings the United boss requested. …
