Air Canada says a security breach of its mobile app may have allowed the personal information of 20-thousand users to be "improperly accessed."

Mobile app users received an email this morning, alerting them as to whether their account had been affected.

The airline says it has locked down all 1.7-million accounts until customers change their passwords.

Air Canada says Aeroplan numbers, passport numbers, birth dates, nationalities and countries of residence could have been accessed if users saved them in their account profile. (8)

(Cda-NAFTA-Talks) (Audio: P01)

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland says Canada is optimistic of having some very good conversations during NAFTA negotiations this week.

Freeland is in Washington to rejoin the talks after the U-S and Mexico announced Monday they had reached a bilateral trade understanding.

She says rules of origin in cars is an incredibly complicated issue, but Mexico has made significant concessions in this area that will benefit Canadian workers. (8)

(Newsprint-Duties-Vote)

The U-S International Trade Commission is expected to vote today on whether to uphold duties imposed on Canadian newsprint imports.

Newspapers in the U-S have been campaigning to lift the duties they say have increased expenses and forced layoffs.

The anti-dumping and countervailing duties were imposed earlier this year on Canadian producers after a Washington-based company complained Canada was dumping newsprint into the American market and unfairly subsidizing its industry at home.

The U-S says 1.21-billion dollars worth of uncoated groundwood paper used for newspapers, commercial printing and book publishing was imported from Canada last year. (8)
