A YOUNG maths whizz has scooped the highest grade possible after sitting his maths GCSE exam aged just 11.

Diseye Dasimaka was entered for his GCSE maths five years earlier than usual after primary school teachers spotted his extraordinary talent with numbers.

Diseye, who was a pupil at St Mary's RC Primary School in Levenshulme at the time, not only passed his Maths GCSE but achieved a grade 9 - the highest grade possible.

The maths maverick's talents have earned him a place at The Manchester Grammar School, starting this month.

"I'm extremely proud of myself. I'm over the moon. My next target is to get all 9s when I sit my GCSEs in five years' time," said Diseye.

His proud mum Mary said: "Whenever we go to the library or a bookshop, he will always look for Maths books and when he is on his phone he is always playing Maths apps, so we've encouraged him from day one. …
