Destination Pittsburgh the City Gets a Travel Nod from a British Magazine

Pittsburgh is getting some well-deserved attention on the other side of the Atlantic. Country Life, an upscale 121-year-old British magazine, selected Pittsburgh for its Travel Mini-break feature in the Aug. 15 issue.

"The former manufacturing powerhouse of Pittsburgh may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of American city breaks, but it's well worth a look," the glossy publication declared.

It recommended a ride on the Duquesne Incline, kayaking on the rivers, a Downtown walking tour and visits to the sports venues. The article singled out the Fairmont Pittsburgh and a handful of restaurants, including Coughlin's Law on Mount Washington and Emporio, Mezzo and Il Tetto, all of which share a Downtown building.
