DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was stabbed outside a city centre McDonald's in the early hours of yesterday.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was stabbed four times in the top of his right leg at about 3.30am on Oxford Street.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police believe there was a fight leading up to the stabbing and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

Forensics officers were seen combing the area for clues later yesterday the morning and the pavement outside the restaurant was cordoned off.

Det Insp Geoff Machent, of GMP's City of Manchester Division, said: "Our main priorities are ensuring the injured man receives the medical attention he needs and we find the person responsible for causing him harm. …
