Firefighters Rescue Pet Dog Trapped in Hole for Two Days

A DOG has been rescued by fire crews nearly 48 hours after falling down a 5ft deep rabbit hole.

Henry, who went missing during a walk in Stalybridge, was finally reunited with his owner Mary thanks to the efforts of 10 firefighters.

Crews heard a barking coming from underground and they called Ashton's Technical Response Unit, who used specialist equipment to pinpoint Henry's location and dig him out.

The device, called 'Deslar', is normally used when a building or structure had collapsed, to locate people trapped inside.

Henry had been missing from his home in Mossley since 5pm on Monday, before Mary's son Graham phoned Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service for help.
