WHAT'S NEW FROM APPLE? IT'S that time of year again - Apple has something new to show us.

The iPhone-maker has invited members of the press and other interested parties to its base in Cupertino, California, on September 12 to reveal its latest products.

And what is it expected to show us? The rumour mill has, as usual, gone into overdrive. But there are some almost-certainties we can predict.

Apple always reveals new iPhones at its annual September events, and this year should be no exception. The smart money is on three new phones - two called iPhone XS, one at 5.8in and one at 6.5in, both with OLED screens (like the current iPhone X, which these two phones will replace), and a new lower-cost phone with a 6.1in LCD display.

Replacement models are expected for the IPHONEX, pictured above All will reportedly adopt the gesture interface pioneered by the iPhone X, Face ID (instead of the fingerprint scanner), and get rid of the home button. …
