SALFORD CITY moved into the National League play-off places after picking up a 1-0 victory over Maidstone United.

An own goal from Shamir Mullings on 47 minutes gave Salford the lead, and that was enough to earn the Ammies their fourth straight home win.

The victory means Salford have moved up to sixth having won five, drawn three and lost just two of their 10 matches so far this season.

In the National League North, CURZON ASHTON claimed bragging rights in their local derby with rivals ALTRINCHAM after a 2-0 win at Moss Lane.

Goals either side of half-time from Connor Hughes and Oliver Crankshaw saw Curzon to victory.

Curzon have moved up to 14th after the victory, leapfrogging Altrincham in the process, who have dropped to 15th. …
