ST. LOUIS - A Jefferson City man out on bail for allegedly firing shots last month into the home of a woman and her two children has been charged in St. Louis with setting fire to his ex-wife's car outside her Hill neighborhood home.

Dean McBaine, 30, was charged Wednesday with first-degree arson, child endangerment, unlawful possession of an explosive and property damage.

McBaine detonated an explosive underneath his ex-wife's car on Sept. 2 in the 5400 block of Bischoff Avenue, charges say. His ex-wife and their 13-year-old son were asleep in the home when there was an explosion in front of the house. A neighbor across the street provided police with surveillance video that showed a man approach the woman's driveway, toss an object underneath her car and run off, moments before an explosion beneath the vehicle that set the car ablaze. …
