POLICE have made an arrest after a group of men armed with a shotgun fired at a house.

A 30-year-old man was held on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

The arrest followed a swoop by police at a house in Harpurhey.

Four men approached the house on Firbeck Drive, Ancoats, and fired a shotgun through the front window at around 3.50pm on Saturday.

A man then entered the house and blasted another round of shot up the stairs, hitting the ceiling.

Two women and a man who were in the property at the time were not hurt.

Police recovered a grey Alfa Romeo 156 abandoned nearby and also found a shotgun believed to be connected to the incident. Det Sgt Karen Jones said: "Although an arrest has been made, inquiries are still very much ongoing to establish what happened and find those responsible. …
