HALIFAX. x-05s. The Nova Scotia government says it is spending 2.8 million dollars to recruit nine new medical specialists to the province. The announcement follows a promise to fund 15 new seats at Dalhousie University's medical school for medical specialist residencies that will focus on training doctors in under serviced areas of Nova Scotia. Health Minister Randy Delorey says the latest announcements are part of the planning process, but are also a recognition more work needs to be done in a province plagued by ongoing doctor shortages.
