New Brunswick has voted to change things up, and now has a Tory minority government.

Voters elected enough third-party candidates to leave the Progressive Conservatives and the Liberals in a virtual dead heat.

The Tories took 22 legislative seats, while the incumbent Liberals won 21, the People's Alliance won three seats and the Greens took three.

Since no party won the 25 seats needed for a majority government, the third parties are set to play a key role in deciding who governs the province. (2)

One of the leaders vying to be Quebec's premier is worth millions more than his opponents.

Documents released yesterday show Coalition Avenir Quebec's Francois Legault's personal wealth stood at 9.86-million dollars at the end of July, including a 4.5-million-dollar Montreal home he owns with his wife.

He had just under 127-thousand-dollars in income last year, according to his federal return.

P-Q Leader Jean-Francois Lisee listed assets worth 1.95-million dollars.

Liberal Leader Philippe Couillard has assets worth more than 659-thousand dollars, but some debt takes his net worth down to 442-thousand, and he declared 198-thousand dollars in salary last year. (2)

Days after twin tornadoes struck the national capital region Friday, Environment Canada now says three twisters actually touched down.

The weather agency says a newly discovered tornado in Calabogie was the weakest of the three -- an E-F-1.

The strongest -- a category E-F-3 -- moved through west-end Ottawa, destroying or badly damaging over four-dozen homes in Dunrobin, before hopping the Ottawa River to strike Gatineau, Quebec.

Another tornado did much damage in the south Ottawa neighbourhood of Arlington Woods.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale will visit affected areas today with Kanata-Carleton M-P Karen McCrimmon. …
