Joy Division's Sound Set for Royal Albert Hall Gig

MANCHESTER rock star Peter Hook is taking the sounds of one of the city's most iconic bands to London's premier venue.

The Joy Division and New Order bassist has been involved with Hacienda Classical - a performance of famous songs from the legendary Manchester club set to classical instruments - but he will now take Joy Division classics to the Royal Albert Hall with help from the Manchester Camerata Orchestra.

The songs of Joy Division will be backed by a full orchestra and be presented in a state-of-the-art concert setting on Friday, July 5, 2019, as the The Sound of Joy Division Orchestrated gig.

Speaking about the concert, Hook told NME: "Once I transcribed all of the instruments for the Hacienda Classical concerts, you were actually listening to an orchestra, it was just synthesised. …
