Lions Gear Up for Playoff Drive by Acquiring Running Back Sutton from Alouettes

Lions acquire Sutton from Alouettes

VANCOUVER - The B.C. Lions have augmented their attack for a playoff push by acquiring running back Tyrell Sutton from Montreal.

The Lions also acquired the Alouettes' third-round pick in the 2019 CFL draft, with B.C.'s second-round pick and a conditional sixth round pick in 2019 going the other way.

The five-foot-eight, 213-pound Sutton played six seasons in Montreal, amassing 3,573 yards on 649 carries in 69 games. The 31-year-old running back gained 417 yards and scored one touchdown on 86 rushes in nine games this season.

The Lions hope to make a drive for the post-season over their final six games of the 2018 campaign. B.C. (6-6) has won three straight and sits two points back of Edmonton for third place in the Western Conference with a game in hand on the Eskimos. …
