POLICE investigating the death of a young man in a city centre hotel room are treating it as murder.

A man fell from fifth floor of the hotel building, on Portland Street, in Manchester city centre in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the scene at around 5.30am and discovered a man at the back of the hotel on Silver Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives then found a body of a second man inside a hotel room on the fifth floor. Police have now confirmed that the death of the man found in the hotel room is being treated as a suspected murder.

Both men are understood to have been in their twenties, say police.
