THESE images show the broken and battered suitcases that some passengers have been left with after their trips abroad.

Readers have told the M.E.N. of their experiences after footage emerged of Swissport ground handlers at Manchester Airport throwing bags on to a trailer with such force they fell on to the ground below.

In response to the video, captured by passenger Elizabeth Evans on a Ryanair flight, Manchester Airport are urging Swissport to take 'robust action' against the staff members involved.

What In the meantime, passengers have shared pictures of their baggage, which could have been damaged at any point during their journeys to and from Manchester Airport.

It is not clear if this happened at Manchester or at another stage along the journey.

But Craig, a contractor for a flight simulator firm, claims he looked through the conveyor entrance to see Swissport staff hurling bags onto the conveyor.

He said: "We were appalled to see our suitcases coming down the conveyor crushed. These are £200 bags. It takes some force to break the wheels and crush them like that.

"It looked liked they had been driven over."

Craig claims he opened the bag to find his ipad screen was cracked and says he went straight to Swissport's customer service desk. He said: "They said it wasn't damaged enough for them to do anything and we'd have to contact Etihad. We were trying to explain how difficult the wheels would make our train journey. They just didn't care.

"These people need to be shamed to make them change their ways. It's total disrespect of people's personal property."
