CHARLOTTETOWN - Matthew Welsh stopped all 32 shots he faced as the Charlottetown Islanders blanked the Saint John Sea Dogs 4-0 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Keith Getson and Thomas Casey gave the Islanders (2-1-0) a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes and Kevin Gursoy made it a three-goal game heading into the third with a power-play marker.

Zachary Beauregard stomped out any chance of a Saint John comeback when he made it 4-0 midway through the third.

Alex D'Orio kicked out 37-of-41 shots for the Sea Dogs (1-1-1).

Charlottetown defenceman Hunter Drew didn't last long after receiving a major and game misconduct for checking to the head 7:23 into the game.

The Islanders went 1 for 5 on the power play while Saint John failed to score on five chances with the man advantage. …
