SALFORD City boss Graham Alexander said it was important his side carried on their incredible run of form as The Ammies won 3-0 at Maidenhead United to go top of the Vanarama National League.

Goals from Scott Wiseman and Adam Rooney in a couple of first half minutes put Salford two up at York Road, with Devante Rodney adding a late third.

Alexander said: "I thought there would be opportunities because we looked really dangerous, it's just about getting that final touch and that little bit of quality in front of goal, which we know we have.

"Today it's come from an unlikely source in Scott Wiseman, whose form has been as good as anyone's in the last five or six weeks.

"Roons only travelled down this morning, on his own separate to the team because his wife had a baby boy this morning, but he wanted to be here to be with the team which is fantastic, and he got his goal. …
