THE owner of a coach firm butted a bus driver, smashing his teeth, before kicking him as he lay on the ground following a bust-up at a garage.

Steven Orchard, 59, from Moston, claimed he acted in self-defence and had not intended to cause serious injury.

But CCTV captured the moment the father - thought to own SO Coaches - flew into a rage at Prescott's Garage, Oldham, in May.

Prosecutor Andrew MacIntosh told Minshull Street Crown Court the defendant launched his attack on the driver at another coach firm, a man he knew, after the pair had been involved in a sudden bust-up.

The pair, who were there to repair and service their vehicles, had a foul-mouthed exchange.

CCTV of the incident played in court showed Orchard then kicking the man while he was on the ground. …
