Maple Leafs trim roster to 26 players

The Toronto Maple Leafs reduced their roster to 26 players on Sunday, with 13 forwards, nine defencemen and four goaltenders making the cut.

The Leafs loaned 13 players to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies, including Jeremy Bracco, Rich Clune, Pierre Engvall and Colin Greening and placed five others on waivers: Adam Cracknell, Josh Jooris, Vincent LoVerde, Chris Mueller and Jordan Subban.

The other players sent to the AHL affiliate were Adam Brooks, Andreas Borgman, Emerson Clark, Carl Grundstrom, Timothy Liljegren, Mason Marchment, Trevor Moore, Calle Rosen and Dmytro Timashov.

The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Pontus Aberg on waivers and released defenceman Jakub Jerabek as they trimmed their roster to 25 players (two goaltenders, nine defencemen and 14 forwards). …
