Seth Rogen Movie Seeking Paid Extras 'Pickle' Set to Film Soon in Pittsburgh

The Seth Rogen project tentatively being called "Pickle" is seeking paid extras for background casting, with the movie set to begin filming in Pittsburgh later this month.

The Sony and Point Grey Pictures comedy will have a "big open call" Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ballroom of the Ace Hotel, 120 S. Whitfield St., East Liberty. The call is for all types, 18 and older, for background in period and present-day scenes.

The movie is based on screenwriter Simon Rich's New Yorker novella about Herschel Greenbaum (the Rogen role), "a struggling laborer who immigrates to America in 1918 with dreams of building a better life for his family. One day, while working at his factory job, he falls into a vat of pickles and is brined for 100 years. The brine preserves him perfectly, and when he emerges in present-day Brooklyn, he finds that he hasn't aged a day. …
