GABRIEL Jesus says he was 'not happy' at being overlooked for City's crucial penalty at Anfield.

The striker wanted to take the spot kick, with the scores level in the 85th minute, but Riyad Mahrez took the ball - and promptly blazed it high over the bar.

Pep Guardiola claimed the decision was his, and that he had conveyed the message onto the pitch via Benjamin Mendy.

The Blues boss said Mahrez had been the most impressive during penalty practices in training, while number one penalty taker Sergio Aguero had already been substituted.

That was contradicted by Mahrez himself, who said he had taken the decision.

TV cameras picked up Jesus looking confused, and then disappointed, when told he was not taking the penalty, which would have put City ahead. …
