Swedish Centre-Back Granqvist Linked to United Move

ANDREAS Granqvist has refused to rule out a move to United in the January transfer window.

The Helsingsborgs IF defender has been linked with a shock switch to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defence.

Mourinho was keen to sign another centre-back in the summer transfer window with Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Diego Godin and Jerome Boateng all high-profile names that were linked with big-money moves to United.

But after failing to land the signing he desired, Mourinho has now reportedly switched his attention to Granqvist. Reports suggested the 33-year-old could make a January switch to Old Trafford, 11 years since beginning his first spell in the Premier League with Wigan Athletic.

And the defender has confirmed there have been talks with his agent.

Asked if there had been contact with United, Granqvist told Expressen: "You can call Martin Dahlin, (his agent), I do not put so much energy around it, except that I'm happy and proud that they have mentioned me. …
