Ross Retires from Family Dealership Son of Founder Sold Firm in 2017

Jimmy Ross is retiring from the automotive group that has been his family's namesake for 65 years.

Mr. Ross, son of Kenny Ross, the founder of North Huntingdon-based Kenny Ross Automotive Group, is being replaced by Bruce Schulman, who will become market chief operating officer.

Mr. Schulman has operated a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Beverly Hills, Calif., for about 13 years.

Mr. Schulman, who turns 68 this month, was born in Philadelphia and moved to California after a career of building market share at multiple dealerships.

He said he's looking forward to returning to Pennsylvania.

"We're going to try to expand our business into other brands that we don't presently operate," Mr. Schulman said. "It's not just selling cars. It's a life-cycle business."

Jimmy Ross and his family will remain active in the Pittsburgh community, including philanthropic causes such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh and Humane Animal Rescue. …
