VANCOUVER. x-21s. Some Victoria gas stations had hiked their prices by 14 cents a litre to nearly $1.54 within hours of news that an explosion had severed the main pipeline supplying natural gas to most of British Columbia. Petroleum analyst Dan McTeague says drivers everywhere in B-C can expect to pay more because the Washington state refineries that supply most of the province's gas are powered by natural gas from the damaged pipeline. Despite the leap at the pump, McTeague says drivers -- especially in Metro Vancouver -- should not panic.
