A FATHER-of-three accused of child sex abuse was forced out of his family home after council bosses said he should not be left alone with children - before the complaint was withdrawn.

The man has been given £1,000 compensation by Trafford council after it was found to have 'mishandled' the situation.

An investigation was launched after the dad - given the name 'Mr C' in a report - was accused of historic crimes in 2016.

He denied the allegations.

After about five months, the complainant withdrew the claims, and the Crown Prosecution Service decided to take no further action.

A report said that during the investigation, Mr C agreed to move out of the family home. Council officers told him and his partner that 'he should be left alone with the children'.

Mr C complained to the council about its handling of the case. …
