SALFORD CITY manager Graham Alexander says there are positives for his side to take despite Rory Gaffney having to score late on to salvage a point against bottom side Braintree Town at The Peninsula Stadium.

The league leaders started the game off in the perfect manner when Gaffney put them ahead with no more than 40 seconds on the clock, but Braintree's top scorer Mohammed Bettamer struck twice to put the visitors in the driving seat and on course for a win until Gaffney equalised in the 94th minute.

"First of all we've got to look at the positives," said the 47-year-old Alexander.

"It's another game unbeaten and it keeps us top of the league and the will of the players and the team in the last 10-15 minutes was excellent.

"But we can't close our eyes and ignore the issues we had throughout the game to put ourselves in that position and we needed a late equaliser so there's things to learn from today but I'm delighted with the players. …
