GOALSCORER Lizzie Arnot felt an early goal proved vital as her Manchester United side maintained their unbeaten FA Women's Championship record with a comfortable 3-0 win over Charlton.

Katie Zelem found the net after just 16 minutes thanks to a wonderful through ball from captain Alex Greenwood, while Jess Sigsworth doubled the advantage after the break.

Arnot got in on the act with a tap-in as United made it four wins from five, not showing any signs of letting up in their debut season in the second tier.

"We knew it was going to be tough and they were going to be hard to break down and at times they made it difficult for us," said the Scot.

"I think it was good that we got the early goal because the longer it goes on at 0-0, the harder it's going to get so it was good to start well and that helped us to get on. …
