2 Restaurants' Fate Slows Bankruptcy Sale of Rivertowne No Bidders Surface for N. Shore Site

A hearing on the bankruptcy sale of Rivertowne Brewing has been postponed to allow further negotiations on liquidating the Westmoreland County company's assets.

Bankruptcy Court Judge Gregory L. Taddonio continued the hearing Tuesday to approve Rivertowne's sale to Helltown Brewing Co., a Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, beer maker founded in 2011.

Helltown was the successful bidder for Rivertowne's Export brewery and its restaurants in Verona and Monroeville for $2 million.

Negotiations for the sale of Rivertowne's North Shore and North Huntingdon restaurants were continuing, but Rivertowne lawyer Michael J. Roeschenthaler was not optimistic about the future of the North Shore eatery.
